receiver 被 (doer) verb

被 marks the passive

Pattern: receiver 被 (doer) verb + extra.

💬 Examples
杯子被打破了。
Bēizi bèi dǎpò le.
The cup was broken.
📝 被 + verb + result
我的车被偷了。
Wǒ de chē bèi tōu le.
My car was stolen.
📝 Agent can be omitted
The agent is optional

Name the doer after 被, or leave it out.

💬 Examples
他被老师批评了。
Tā bèi lǎoshī pīpíng le.
He was criticized by the teacher.

门被关上了。
Mén bèi guānshàng le.
The door was closed.
📝 No agent stated
被 often implies something adverse

Traditionally used for unfortunate or affected events.
