Adjectives that behave like nouns

な-adjectives take な before a noun

And です as a predicate.

negative 静かじゃない isn't quiet
past 静かでした was quiet
💬 Examples
静かな部屋
shizuka na heya
a quiet room
📝 な + noun
この部屋は静かです。
Kono heya wa shizuka desu.
This room is quiet.
📝 な-adj + です (no な before です)
They conjugate like the copula

Negative じゃない, past でした.

静かじゃないです。
Shizuka ja nai desu.
It's not quiet.

Genki deshita.
