Linking clauses

-고 links actions ('and')

Joins clauses in sequence or simultaneously.

💬 Examples
밥을 먹고 학교에 가요.

📝 -고 links descriptions
-아서/어서 = 'and so / because'

Cause or sequential connection.

💬 Examples
배가 고파서 먹었어요.
baega gopaseo meogeosseoyo.
I was hungry, so I ate.
📝 -아서 = because/so
도서관에 가서 공부해요.
doseogwan-e gaseo gongbuhaeyo.
(I) go to the library and study.
📝 -아서 = and (connected actions)
-고 vs -아서

-고 just lists; -아서 implies a tighter cause/sequence link.

손을 씻고 먹어요.

(I) wash my hands and (then) eat.
📝 -고: two separate actions
손을 씻어서 깨끗해요.
son-eul ssiseoseo kkaekkeutaeyo.
(I) washed my hands, so they're clean.
