Verbs don't change for tense

Time comes from context or markers.

📊 Aspect / time markers
Marker Position Meaning
จะ jà before verb will / future
กำลัง gam-lang before verb -ing (in progress)
...อยู่ yùu after verb ongoing state
แล้ว láew after verb already / completed
💬 Examples
เมื่อวานผมไป
mʉ̂a-waan phǒm bpai
Yesterday I went.
📝 ไป unchanged; เมื่อวาน = yesterday
พรุ่งนี้ผมไป
phrûng-níi phǒm bpai
Tomorrow I('ll) go.
📝 Same verb; the time word changes
จะ = future; กำลัง...อยู่ = progressive

Pre-verbal markers.

ผมจะไป
phǒm jà bpai
I will go.
📝 จะ = will
ผมกำลังกินอยู่
phǒm gam-lang gin yùu
I am eating.
📝 กำลัง...อยู่ = in progress
แล้ว = 'already / now done'

Marks a completed change.
