Describing nouns in English

Adjectives come BEFORE the noun

Unlike Spanish English adjectives precede the noun.

💬 Examples
a big house
the adjective big comes before the noun house
📝 adjective before noun
a tall man / tall women
the adjective stays the same for both
📝 no change in English
a red car
the colour red comes before the noun car
📝 colour before noun
Adjectives do not change for gender or number

One form works for all nouns.

💬 Examples
a beautiful city / beautiful cities
no change for plural either
📝 same adjective for plural
Multiple adjectives follow a fixed order

Opinion – size – age – shape – colour – origin – material.

💬 Examples
a lovely old Italian clock
opinion then age then origin
📝 opinion-age-origin order
a big red ball
size always comes before colour
📝 size before colour
