làm, khiến, cho and resultative complements

làm and khiến express causation

CAUSE + làm/khiến + EFFECT; both mean make/cause something to happen.

để + V (purpose) học để biết study in order to know
💬 Examples
Anh ấy làm tôi buồn.
He made me sad.
📝 làm + object + result state
Tin tức khiến mọi người lo lắng.
The news caused everyone to worry.
📝 khiến = more formal than làm
cho = give / let / for

cho before a verb can mean let/allow; cho + person = for someone.

💬 Examples
Mẹ cho con đi chơi.
Mom lets the child go play.
📝 cho + person + verb = allow
Anh mua cái này cho tôi nhé.
Buy this for me, okay?
📝 cho + person = beneficiary
Resultative complements show outcome

VERB + ra / thành / được shows the result of the action.
