att (that) introduces complement clauses

att is the subordinating conjunction equivalent to English that.

In subordinate clauses, inte comes BEFORE the verb

This is the key word-order difference from main clauses (BIFF rule).

📝 inte before verb in subordinate clause

📝 inte before förstår in the om-clause
för att = in order to; eftersom = because (factual)

för att + infinitive = purpose; eftersom = because (causal, formal).

I exercise in order to stay healthy.
📝 för att + infinitive = purpose
Eftersom det regnar, stannar vi hemma.
Since it is raining, we stay home.
