Accent 1 (single) and Accent 2 (double)

Swedish has two pitch accents that distinguish some word pairs

Accent 1 = single tone (falling); Accent 2 = double tone (falling-rising).

Accent 1 is typical of monosyllables becoming definite

When a monosyllable adds a definite suffix, it usually gets accent 1.
