Explaining causes with because.
אֲנִי שָׂמֵחַ כִּי הַיּוֹם חָג.
I am happy because today is a holiday.
ani same'ach ki hayom chag.
הוּא לֹא בָּא כִּי הָיָה חוֹלֶה.
He did not come because he was sick.
hu lo ba ki haya choleh.
אֲנִי שׁוֹתֶה תֵּה כִּי קַר לִי.
I drink tea because I am cold.
ani shote te ki kar li.
נִשְׁאַרְנוּ כִּי יָרַד גֶּשֶׁם.
We stayed because it was raining.
nishanu ki yarad geshem.
הִיא שְׂמֵחָה כִּי עָבְרָה אֶת הַבְּחִינָה.
She is happy because she passed the exam.
hi smecha ki avra et habchina.
אֵיחַרְתִּי בִּגְלַל פְּקַק תְּנוּעָה.
I was late because of the traffic.
echarti biglal pkak tnua.
אֲנִי רָעֵב כִּי לֹא אָכַלְתִּי.
I am hungry because I did not eat.
ani raev ki lo achalti.
הוּא יָשַׁן כִּי הָיָה עָיֵף.
He slept because he was tired.
hu yashan ki haya ayef.
אֲנִי לוֹמֵד עִבְרִית כִּי אֲנִי אוֹהֵב אוֹתָהּ.
I learn Hebrew because I like it.
ani lomed ivrit ki ani ohev ota.
אֲנַחְנוּ שְׂמֵחִים כִּי אֲנַחְנוּ יַחַד.
We are happy because we are together.
anachnu smechim ki anachnu yachad.
הִיא לֹא קָנְתָה אֶת זֶה כִּי זֶה הָיָה יָקָר.
She did not buy it because it was expensive.
hi lo kaneta et ze ki ze haya yakar.
נִשְׁאַרְתִּי כִּי הָיְתָה לִי עֲבוֹדָה.
I stayed because I had work.
nishanti ki hayta li avoda.
