子供の頃、田舎に住んでいました。
When I was a child we lived in the countryside.
kodomo no koro, inaka ni sunde imashita.
去年初めてヨーロッパに行きました。
Last year I travelled to Europe for the first time.
kyonen hajimete Yooroppa ni ikimashita.
彼女が電話してきたとき、私は働いていました。
I was working when she called.
kanojo ga denwa shite kita toki, watashi wa hataraite imashita.
以前は喫煙していましたが、やめました。
I used to smoke but I quit.
izen wa kitsuen shite imashita ga, yamemashita.
その日はすでにとても疲れていました。
I had become very tired that day.
sono hi wa sudeni totemo tsukarete imashita.
遅くまで話しました。
We talked until late.
osoku made hanashimashita.
私が着いたときには、みんな帰っていました。
When I arrived everyone had left.
watashi ga tsuita toki ni wa, minna kaette imashita.
あの旅行を決して忘れません。
I will never forget that trip.
ano ryokou wo kesshite wasuremasen.
あの会社で何年も働きました。
I worked at that company for years.
ano kaisha de nannen mo hatarakimashita.

I read that book twice.
ano hon wo nikai yomimashita.

It rained all day yesterday.
