Explaining causes and purposes.
因为下雨，我们待在家里。
Because it was raining we stayed home.
Yīnwèi xià yǔ, wǒmen dāi zài jiālǐ.
我很累，所以早点睡了。
I was tired so I slept early.
Wǒ hěn lèi, suǒyǐ zǎo diǎn shuì le.
他努力工作，以便成功。
He worked hard so he could succeed.
Tā nǔlì gōngzuò, yǐbiàn chénggōng.
因为迟了，我们打了出租车。
Because it was late we took a taxi.
Yīnwèi chí le, wǒmen dǎ le chūzū chē.
我学中文，因为我喜欢它。
I learn Chinese because I love it.
Wǒ xué Zhōngwén, yīnwèi wǒ xǐhuān tā.
他没来，因为他有工作。
He did not come because he had work.
Tā méi lái, yīnwèi tā yǒu gōngzuò.
我们早出发，以免迟到。
We left early so we would not be late.
Wǒmen zǎo chūfā, yǐmiǎn chídào.
我没买，因为太贵了。
I did not buy it because it was too expensive.
Wǒ méi mǎi, yīnwèi tài guì le.
我锻炼是为了保持健康。
I exercise to stay healthy.
Wǒ duànliàn shì wèile bǎochí jiànkāng.
她很高兴，因为她通过了考试。
She was happy because she had passed.
Tā hěn gāoxìng, yīnwèi tā tōngguò le kǎoshì.
因为我冷，所以穿了外套。
Because I was cold I put on a coat.
Yīnwèi wǒ lěng, suǒyǐ chuān le wàitào.
这就是我决定留下来的原因。
That is why I decided to stay.
Zhè jiù shì wǒ juédìng liú xià lái de yuányīn.
