Adjectives before a noun take endings

The ending depends on the article, gender and case.

Weak vs strong endings

After a definite article the endings are weak (-e/-en); with no article they carry more info.

📝 No article → strong -er
No ending in the predicate

Predicate adjectives are uninflected.

Der Mann ist gut.
The man is good.
