The Verb होना (to be)

Present tense and SOV order

होna present: हूँ, है, हैं, हो

The verb agrees with the subject.

The verb comes at the end (SOV)

Hindi is subject-object-verb.

मैं हिंदी सीखता हूँ
maiṃ hindī sīkhtā hūṃ
I learn Hindi

yah ghar baṛā hai
This house is big

Predicate adjectives agree

Adjective + है, with gender/number agreement.
