The Jussive (المجزوم)

The apocopate mood

Triggers of the jussive

After لم، لمّا، لـِ (of command), and لا (of prohibition), the present verb takes the jussive, ending in sukun.

lam yadhhab

Jussive in conditionals

Both verbs of a conditional sentence with إنْ/مَنْ take the jussive.

إنْ تَدرُسْ تَنجَحْ
in tadrus tanjaḥ
If you study, you will succeed

man yazra' yaḥṣud
Whoever sows, reaps

لـِ + jussive forms a third-person command ('let him...').
