Nominative & Accusative

Subject and direct object

Nominative = subject; accusative = direct object

The case changes the article and sometimes the noun ending.

The man sees the dog.
📝 ο (subject) → τον (object)
Έχω έναν αδελφό.
EH-ho EH-nan a-thel-FO
I have a brother.
📝 ένας → έναν (masculine accusative)
Masculine article changes most

ο → τον and ένας → έναν; η and το stay the same.

💬 Examples
Βλέπω τη γυναίκα.
VLEH-po tee yee-NEH-ka
I see the woman.
📝 η → τη (feminine — slight form change)
Βλέπω το παιδί.
VLEH-po to peh-THEE
I see the child.
📝 το unchanged (neuter)
Accusative prepositions

σε, από, με, για, ως always take the accusative.
