Weak pronouns, double clitics and imperative placement

Clitic (weak) pronouns precede the verb

In statements and questions they attach before the finite verb.

📝 της (indirect) before verb
Double clitics: indirect before direct

When two clitics co-occur, the indirect (genitive) comes first.

tis to THEE-no
I give it to her.
📝 της (indirect) + το (direct) + verb
Μου το είπε.
mu to EE-pe
He/She told it to me.
📝 μου (indirect) + το (direct)
Clitics follow the imperative

After an imperative verb, clitics attach after it, not before.

Δώσε μου!

Give me (it)!
📝 imperative + μου after
Πες μου την αλήθεια.
pes mu tin a-LEE-thya
Tell me the truth.
